Jackie’s Take: What’s On My Mind in Women’s Wellness ✍️
You're standing in the aisle of a full flight, carry-on over your head. A man two rows back half-stands. "Need a hand?"
“I’ve got it.” You say with an easy smile. One push, and the bag slides in. The latch clicks. And you sit down, feeling kinda like a badass.

These are the kinds of moments that I file under “longevity.”
Now, I know longevity is a term that gets thrown around a lot, especially by biohacker bros that want to sell you their supplements and shakes and cold plunge tubs.
But I think it’s time we took back the term and defined it for what it really means: the number of years you get on this planet feeling strong, clear-headed, and in charge of your own life.
Because here’s the truth.
In the United States, the average person spends 12 full years at the end of life dealing with chronic illness or disability.
And the things that we do now, in our 40s and 50s, can shrink that number significantly.
So here's the question I'd put to you: what do you want to be able to do at 80?
Maybe your answers sound like mine would. Lift my own bag. Get down on the floor with my grandkids, and get back up easily. Travel alone. Remember the name of that guy I had a crush on in high school. Still want intimacy, and enjoy it.
And here’s the thing.
Menopause changes your body in ways that are diametrically opposed to your longevity.
> It can erase your muscle gains.
> Increase your LDL cholesterol and ApoB without any change to your diet.
> Create a rise in insulin resistance.
> Make you gain weight.
But you don’t have to lie down and just let this transition wreck your future.
Intention now, with weight training, hormone therapy, and protecting your sleep, can do so much more for you than a shiny new supplement or a telomere test.

Your Turn to Weigh In 🗳️
Which one would you most hate to lose by 80?
The LAiDY Edit 🤖
AI is good at turning a goal into a plan you can track. So try having it work backwards for you on your longevity goals.
Paste this in and fill in the brackets:
"I'm a [age]-year-old woman. At 80, I want to still be able to: [list three things]. Here are my most recent numbers, with dates: [blood pressure, cholesterol/ApoB, A1C, anything else you have]. Build me a one-page healthspan tracker: for each goal, list the habits that protect it, the numbers worth watching, and what I should ask my clinician at my next physical. Flag any number I don't have yet."
Then ask: "Turn the questions for my clinician into a short list I can bring on my phone."
Strip your name and date of birth before you paste anything. And AI can get the medicine wrong, so treat what it gives you as a first draft to bring to your appointment. The value is in the organizing.

The American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 is the cleanest scorecard for the numbers that matter most for your longevity.
The slightly alarming part: when the AHA applied it to U.S. adults in 2022, only about 1 in 5 scored in the high range.

The Find 🛍️
What kind of intimate lube is in your nightstand?
My bet is it’s full of glycerin, parabens, and fragrance. All things you do NOT want touching your most sensitive, vascular skin.
That’s why I’ve turned quite a few patients onto a clean formula I love:
LBDO’s Flow
It’s aloe-based, pH-balanced, and free of all the yucky stuff they pass off as “safe for skin” these days. Bonus: it comes in a bottle you won’t mind leaving on the nightstand.
You’ll thank me later ;)
